A few photos from Monday, on Labor Day Weekend

Dave and I drove over to Berkeley in the mid-afternoon to escape the City's holiday crowds and traffic. On the drive over, we detoured onto Treasure Island to see the recent developments and construction. There's nothing left of the old buildings on the island, they've all been demolished. Flatened fields and mountains of rubble are the current look on Treasure Island. Even the palm trees on the Avenue of the Palms that ran along the shoreline facing San Francisco are gone. The only buildings that remain standing are the three large buildings from the 1939 Fair. The homes and run-down buildings on the island's northwestern side are still there, but I doubt for much longer.

After spending time on Telegraph Avenue we drove up to Grizzly Peak Blvd the runs along the ridgeline of the Berkeley and Oakland Hills. There was a thick marine layer coming in from the Pacific so there was no panoramic view of San Francisco and the Bay. Despite that limitation, here are a few images from Monday's visit to Berkeley.
